COSPLAY CONTEST

It’s not an anime convention without a MASQUERADE (aka Cosplay Contest). This spectacular event will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024.  What is unique about this particular masquerade is that we are an 18+ convention, so the rules are a little more lax on what cosplays and performances we can have on stage! We also want everyone to have fun and turn up, so we're taking some of the pomp and circumstance out of it so you can really go wild on stage. (If your costume can handle you twerking in it, maybe that will win you some points.)

Cosplay Contest Applications close Friday, May 10, 2024 @ 11:59pm CST

Badges are required  to participate in the masquerade.

We will have three categories this year for our masquerade:

Craftsmanship:

You made a good portion of your costume and you want to display your skills. Our judges are as talented as they are gorgeous, so bring your A-game!

Runway:

You perhaps made a tiny bit of your costume (or none at all) and you want to just strut your stuff. You’ll be able to strive to win superlatives such as “Best Walk” or “Fiercest Fit”.

Performance:

You're a theater babe and you want to entertain us. And we certainly like to be entertained.

For each category, there are certain criteria that need to be met in order to be accepted into that particular category. If you are accepted into one category and can no longer meet those specifications, you can change categories as long as you notify the coordinator within 48 hours of the convention.

When you enter, please keep an eye out for emails as this is mainly how we will be corresponding with people. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email us at cosplay@kimochiicon.com.

Commitment to Fairness & Inclusion

In order to create a welcoming and inclusive contest, we at Kimochiicon pledge to not judge contestants on any components outside of their cosplay or performance. Any judge found to be showing bias towards or against any of these will be removed as judge, and all points from said judge will not be accounted for in final scores.
